TravelgateX, a global marketplace for the travel trade, has acquired the start-up REVVA in order to strengthen its position in the business intelligence sector.
TravelgateX, which already handles one of the largest data of global connections in the B2B tourism industry, states that having on hand so much information about the market and customers will make it possible for companies to work methodically.
Meanwhile, Mallorca-based start-up REVVA specialises in revenue management and business intelligence for the tourism sector. As of 1 November, REVVA’s advanced BI platform will become part of the new TravelgateX product catalogue, thus initiating the first connective ecosystem of the tourism industry.
REVVA will be in charge of analysing the transactions of more than 3,000 online tourist connections, for more than 1 terabyte daily, while the technology created by TravelgateX, which already generates a turnover of 3.2 billion dollars per year, will be able to process a reservation every 8 seconds and move more than 1.5 billion searches per day.
“Fits perfectly into our product range.”
Pedro Brücher Camara, CEO of TravelgateX, said: “Revva fits perfectly into our product range. Business intelligence and revenue management are acquiring greater significance and importance on a daily basis, that is why from now on our customers will benefit from this essential tool.”
“The vast amount of data handled by TravelgateX offers a great opportunity for monetisation, both internally and for the clientele. The merger between both companies will allow the creation of a cutting-edge product that will help our customers to sell and buy more optimally, predict trends, apply dynamic pricing, and have access to many more features. We thank Pedro for the trust,” added Marcello Bresin, former CEO of Revva turned product manager of TravelgateX.
