Turkey eases travel rules from 1 July

Turkey has decided to ease many restrictions imposed on travellers from 1 July. As per the information shared by the Turkish Tourism, the new unlock rules include removal of the night curfew restrictions including weekends for locals and tourists.

All dining options, restaurants and bars will become operational. Entertainment venues like cinema halls and concert venues can function without any restrictions subject to Covid guidelines.

However, the 14-day quarantine rule for anyone who has travelled to India within the last 14 days will continue for some time. Such travellers will have the option to stay in a quarantine hotel of their choice and at their expense as well.

As per reports, the quarantine rules will remain in place for travellers from other countries where the more dangerous ‘delta’ version of the coronavirus has been reported. However, the Turkish Tourism has dubbed news reports that the country has halted flights and all direct travel from Bangladesh, Brazil, South Africa, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka due to new variants of the coronavirus, as misleading.

Turkish authorities have informed that the country has been able to vaccinate 42% of its population with at least first dose and hope to fully vaccinate 70% of the population by August this year.
