Seven months after inking its partnership  agreement with Shanxi Xiaohe Xincheng Hotel Co. Ltd, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts today announced  the opening of three new hotels in the heart of Shanxi province, China: Wyndham Grand Shanxi Xiaohe Xincheng, Wyndham Shanxi Xiaohe Xincheng and La Quinta by Wyndham Shanxi Xiaohe Xincheng. 

Located next to Xiaohe International Convention and Exhibition Centre and offering a host of  professional meeting facilities and amenities for business travellers and conference participants, the  three hotels enhance Wyndham’s presence in China by more than 1,000 rooms.

Situated 32 kilometers from Taiyuan Wusu International Airport (TYN), the Xiaohe International  Convention and Exhibition Centre is the largest and most advanced meeting space in Shanxi province. Heavily leveraging green construction technologies, the Centre features close to 70,000 square meters  of solar panels on its roof, generating approximately 8.4 million kilowatt-hours of electricity a year and  lighting more than 650,000 square meters convention space, in addition to electric vehicle chargers.

Shanxi Province saw its GDP grow by 5.3 percent in the first three quarters of 2022, the highest rate  amongst all provinces, according to recent data released by the local government. The expanding  economy bodes well for hoteliers as business owners and the government work to further establish  Shanxi as a travel destination.
