AirAsia connects Thailand’s regional cities

Where? Chiang Mai to Ubon Ratchathani (both Thailand)
When? Daily, effective immediately
Who? Thai AirAsia
Why? Low-cost carrier provides more connectivity for travellers in Thailand’s regional cities
Anything else? Thai AirAsia now operates eight domestic routes from Chiang Mai, the largest city in northern Thailand

Okay Airways adds seasonal service to Danang

Where? Tianjin (China) to Danang (Vietnam)
When? Three times a week, from 8 July to 1 October 2017
Who? Okay Airways
Why? Chinese airline takes advantage of strong seasonal demand for travel to Vietnam’s central coast
Anything else? Mainland China accounted for almost 30% of all international arrivals to Vietnam in Q1 2017

Malindo to debut in Cambodia

Where? Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to Phnom Penh (Cambodia)
When? Daily, effective 1 August 2017

Why? Malaysian carrier taps rising demand for intra-ASEAN travel
Anything else? This will mark the launch of Malindo’s first ever flights to Cambodia

Air Seoul adds new low-cost link to Guam

Where? Seoul Incheon (South Korea) to Guam, pictured (USA)
When? Daily, effective 13 September 2017
Who? Air Seoul
Why? Low-cost carrier provides new service for outbound South Korean leisure market
Anything else? Air Seoul will become the fourth Korean LCC operating this route

Qingdao gets new Australian connection

Where? Qingdao (China) to Sydney, pictured (Australia)
When? Twice a week, effective 20 September 2017
Who? Beijing Capital Airlines
Why? Expanding airline continues to add international routes from Chinese port city
Anything else? Beijing Capital already flies from Qingdao to Vancouver and will launch Moscow flights next week

China Airlines flies to London

Where? Taipei (Taiwan) to London Gatwick (UK)
When? Four times a week, effective 1 December 2017
Who? China Airlines
Why? Airline uses its new fleet of fuel-efficient Airbus A350 jets to expand in Europe
Anything else? This will be the airline’s first direct route to the UK since 2012
