Icelandair will increase its Glasgow service by over 2000 extra seats.

From the beginning of November until the end of December four flights a week from GLA to KEF will increase in capacity by 39 seats from 183 seats per flight to 222 seats.

Steven Marshall, head of airline marketing & development at Glasgow Airport said:

“Icelandair is one of our longest serving airlines and we are delighted that they have seen the potential for increased demand between Glasgow and North America this winter. In winter time New York is especially popular from Glasgow and we are pleased to see Icelandair offer incredible value in its fares – return fares start from as little as £370pp.”

The Glasgow to Keflavik route will also remain daily for connections to the airline’s 18 trans-Atlantic North American gateways.

The increased capacity on the Glasgow flights will also be complimented by an additional flight to New York’s Newark from Keflavik that will begin on Wednesday 15 November until 11 January taking the Newark route to a daily service and the Glasgow flights, along with the other six from UK gateways will connect into this service.
