As it prepares to host various thrilling events this week, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) is prepared to become the hub of the gaming industry. MCEC is ready to provide an outstanding experience for all participants, from professional conferences to Australia’s largest gaming expo.

Games Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP) starts Melbourne International Games Week at MCEC, offering a venue for professional growth and networking for game creators. The event brings together industry professionals worldwide to cooperate and define the future of gaming.

Later this week, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) will be transformed into a gamer’s paradise for Penny Arcade Expo (PAX), Australia’s largest gaming event. The three-day event will occupy 17 display bays, the full Plenary, and several breakout spaces across the site. PAX offers a unique chance for fans to immerse themselves in the gaming industry and engage with their favourite game developers, publishers, and brands, with a packed programme of intriguing exhibitions, conferences, interactive gaming sessions, cosplay competitions, and tournaments.

PAX is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, and MCEC has been honoured to host the event for the previous eight years. Last year’s festival set attendance records, with over 23,000 people attending daily.

Melbourne International Games Week has become a highlight in MCEC’s timetable of activities, according to Natalie O’Brien AM, Chief Executive of MCEC, who expressed her excitement for the upcoming events.

“We are delighted to host major events during Melbourne International Games Week, which will bring together industry leaders and gaming enthusiasts from around the world to celebrate gaming culture.” We look forward to meeting many people during the week and celebrating PAX’s tenth anniversary.”

“MCEC is a premier hub for engaging in culture, sharing ideas and knowledge, and we’re dedicated to providing the perfect stage for innovation and unforgettable experiences.”

The gaming sector is now worth $3.14 billion to the Australian economy, highlighting the significance of promoting cooperation and innovation via events like Melbourne International Games Week. With 85% of digital gaming studios in Australia based in Melbourne, MCEC is the ideal venue for event and gaming enthusiasts.
