MEYER WERFT officially delivered the Disney Treasure, the latest addition to Disney’s fleet. This state-of-the-art cruise ship, featuring some of the most complex and innovative entertainment facilities in the industry, was completed ahead of schedule and is set to welcome guests in December.
A Celebration of Partnership and Innovation
The handover ceremony was a momentous occasion, attended by MEYER WERFT CEO Bernd Eikens, Bernard Meyer, and Thomas Mazloum, President of Disney Signature Experiences. Eikens expressed his pride in the collaboration: “We are very happy to hand over the Disney Treasure to Disney Cruise Line today. She is the newest milestone in our longstanding partnership and everyone at MEYER WERFT has put a lot of effort and passion into Disney Treasure.”
Mazloum echoed this sentiment, highlighting the ship’s role in expanding Disney’s magical experiences: “The Disney Treasure is yet another example of how we’re bringing the magic of Disney cruising to more fans than ever before – and today, we are one step closer to debuting this spectacular ship to the world. We’re incredibly thankful for our work with Meyer Werft and look forward to our bright future together as we continue to expand the Disney Cruise Line fleet.”

New Adventures Await
Families aboard the Disney Treasure can look forward to a host of imaginative experiences inspired by Disney’s rich portfolio of stories. Highlights include:
- Theatrical Dining: Inspired by Pixar’s “Coco,” offering an immersive dining experience.
- Broadway-Style Shows: An original adaptation of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film, “Moana.”
- Disney Parks-Inspired Lounges: Including the first-ever Haunted Mansion-themed bar for adults.
A Legacy of Excellence
The Disney Treasure is the fifth Disney ship built by MEYER WERFT, continuing a legacy that began with the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, delivered in 2010 and 2012, respectively. In 2022, the Disney Treasure’s sister ship, the Disney Wish, was handed over to Disney Cruise Line. The third ship in this class, the Disney Destiny, is currently under construction and will be delivered in 2025.
In a testament to their successful partnership, Disney Cruise Line and MEYER WERFT announced in August that the German shipyard will build four additional ships for Disney, set to join the fleet between 2027 and 2031.
Looking Ahead
As the Disney Treasure prepares to set sail, it promises to bring new adventures and magical experiences to families around the world. With its innovative entertainment facilities and the continued collaboration between Disney Cruise Line and MEYER WERFT, the future looks bright for Disney’s expanding fleet.
