Indonesia showed off five of its high-priority destinations at this year’s Taipei International Travel Fair (TITF) in Taiwan.
The country’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy promoted the country’s five super-priority destinations (DSP), as well as the Banyuwangi-North Bali-West Bali (3B) corridor.
The ministry leveraged this opportunity by hosting an Indonesian pavilion, which occupied 36 square metres in Hall 1 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center during the fair, held from 1 to 4 November.
In collaboration with the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office (KDEI), the ministry also supported six Indonesian tourism industry players from various sectors to join TITF 2024.
A great opportunity for promotions
According to deputy marketing officer Ni Made Ayu Marthini, Taiwan’s largest international tourism exhibition provided a valuable opportunity for Indonesia to expand its tourism promotion to the Taiwanese market.
Marthini said: “The promotion of tourism has been enhanced through product knowledge and updates on the five super-priority destinations and 3B.”
She pointed out that visitors to the pavilion participated in mini-surveys and questionnaires, and they also received promotional materials.
Additionally, sales calls were made to travel agents, tour operators, airlines, and tourism application companies in Taipei.
Marthini further revealed that tourist arrivals from Taiwan to Indonesia in the first eight months of 2024 reached 127,610.
Based on this figure, Indonesia’s active participation in the TITF was a strategic step toward achieving the target of 14.3 million foreign tourists this year.
She said: “Through this event, we aim to sustainably increase the number of foreign visitors, especially from Taiwan, to Indonesia.”
