Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has announced a major expansion of its international network, adding over ten new destinations for 2025. The new routes include Vienna (Austria), Venice (Italy), Larnaca (Cyprus), Athens and Heraklion (Greece), Nice (France), Malaga (Spain), Bali (Indonesia), Antalya (Turkey), El Alamein (Egypt), and Salalah (Oman), further increasing Saudia’s global footprint.
The expansion comes amid growing international travel demand, with Saudia recording a 16% increase in international passenger numbers last year. The new routes are part of the airline’s strategy to strengthen connectivity between Saudi Arabia and key global markets.
Talking about the new expansion, H.E. Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, stated: “Following a year of strong operational growth, our expansion plan for 2025 is focused on meeting increased travel demand while enhancing connectivity. Each new destination has been identified through detailed market analysis to align with passenger needs and support Saudi Arabia’s tourism and economic objectives.”
Saudia currently operates a fleet of 147 Boeing and Airbus aircraft, with plans to add 118 new aircraft in the coming years to support its growth strategy. The airline operates over 530 flights per day, providing increased global connectivity and reinforcing its role as a key player in the region’s aviation sector.
