AirAsia X will suspend its flights to Mauritius next month, less than six months after they commenced.
An update on the Routes Online schedules database shows that the low-cost carrier has stopped taking bookings for the Kuala Lumpur-Mauritius flights for travel on or after 26 March 2017. The route is currently operated three times a week using a 377-seat Airbus A330 aircraft.
AirAsia X launched the route to great fanfare in October 2016, with Mauritius becoming the airline’s first ever destination in Africa.
It has recently switched its focus however, with plans to launch its first US flights to Hawaii later this year and services to London also expected to relaunch in future.
