A year after its acquisition of Tigerbay, the ATCORE Group will be showcasing its full range of tour operator technologies at this year’s Travel Technology Europe (TTE).
Both brands provide high performance reservation and e-commerce platforms to the travel industry, with Atcom focusing on some of the world’s largest leisure brands, and Tigerbay on specialist tour operators.
“Travel companies today are facing a technology arms race, blinded by choice, peppered with options,” comments Dave Cruickshank, CEO of ATCORE. “Our job as a travel technology group is to provide leisure travel providers, of any size and shape, with clear, easy platform choices that are totally relevant for their business and how they sell to consumers.
“The two platforms we are showcasing at TTE – Atcom and Tigerbay – complement one another and co-habit well. They allow us to target the widest range of tour operators from some of the largest in the world on Atcom (including TUI and Thomas Cook), to some of the most specialised on Tigerbay (including Voyage Jules Verne, Mark Warner and Beachcomber Tours).
“This is the first year we have been able to profile Tigerbay on our stand. Now part of our family, Tigerbay is benefitting from the unfair advantage that being part of ATCORE gives them. As part of the group it has access to ATCORE’s technical expertise and group capabilities including infrastructure services, search and third party connectivity.”
Innovation is at the heart of the Tigerbay ethos, and it will be launching its latest development at this year’s TTE. Tigerbay will be launching a Virtual Reality (VR) ski holiday simulation – which it has created in tandem with its client Mark Warner. 360º VR headsets will be available on the stand, featuring a fully optimised ski break in Val D’Isere – showcasing chalet living as well as plenty of slope action.
“VR is fast becoming a part of mainstream digital content across all industries, so travel businesses must keep an eye on these latest developments to best bring their products to life,” comments Carl Morgan, MD of Tigerbay. “An experience-rich holiday like skiing is ideal for a superb VR experience, and Tigerbay is proud to pioneer this new offer alongside Mark Warner.”
Tigerbay is taking part in one of TTE’s innovative conference sessions, which run in parallel to the show itself.
On 22 February, from 15.30-16.30, in the Travel Tech Theatre, Carl Morgan will be joining the panel in a session moderated by Kevin May of Tnooz, called “The new reality. Are VR and AR just games or a business tool?” The panel will also be joined by Jeff Coghlan of Matmi and Nick Larson of Timelooper.
