Boeing Temporarily Suspends 787 Dreamliner Deliveries

- March 6, 2023

The delivery of Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner aircraft has been delayed while an investigation into a fuselage component is carried out.

Late last week, the news was made public by both Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Before the aviation manufacturer can deliver again, they must demonstrate to the FAA that the problem has been fixed.

“There is no immediate threat to the flight safety of the fleet currently in operation.” Boeing has stated that they are in the process of engaging with its customers and will continue to follow the lead of the FAA. Even though short-term deliveries will be affected, we do not foresee a change in our production and delivery projection for the year.

Boeing claims to have discovered “an analytical mistake by our supplier linked to the 787 front pressure bulkhead.”

As soon as the problem with the fuselage component has been fixed, production of the aeroplane will resume.

Furthermore, the FAA is working with Boeing to “identify any steps that would be necessary for recently delivered aeroplanes.”
