China’s leading wine-producing area draws in the world’s foremost wine experts to its capital Yinchuan for the Fourth China International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo from 9 to 11 August.

Set in the heart of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the hub for Chinese wine production, the expo brings in both local and foreign experts and enterprises in the wine-making industry, as well as officials and representatives of embassies, government agencies, and international organisations.

Over 60 wineries and exhibitors from countries including France, Australia, Italy, Spain, and Chile are slated to attend the three-day expo, which will feature a wine carnival, competitions. and other events.

This is the fourth time that the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Regions has hosted the China International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo. Prior to this, the region has also hosted nine editions of the country’s International Wine Expo since 2012.

A key to further expansion

The Ningxia Hui region is considered the best venue for the event as it is now China’s largest wine producer. The area boasts of up to 40,133 hectares of vineyards, along with 253 vintners that produced 140 million bottles of wine in the past year.

According to local wine production executive Huang Siming: “The upgrade of the wine expo makes a bigger circle of friends for Ningxia, and helps the region expand its market, share the opportunities and achieve mutually successful deals with friends through cooperation.”
