Flylolo has now announced a new Anglo-Greco connection out of the southern UK hub of Southampton with the launch of its Skiathos service.

The service will be operated by Flybe, but, unlike most other flights to the always popular Greek location, Flylolo will eschew the usual stop over at Thessaloniki and Kavala and will instead fly non-stop between the two locations.

Flylolo is a specialist airline which only operates during peak travel times to provide a low-cost and “no frills” service for families during school holidays. Now it will also be able to offer extended leg room on the flight as legislation limits the short runway in Skiathos to a restricted load of just 97 passengers. That means the new service will be a full 21 fliers short of the 118-seater Embraer 195 slated to run the route, making the journey more comfortable.

Discussing the new service Neil Garwood, managing director for Southampton Airport said: “We are very proud to have the Skiathos route as part of our busy summer schedule. It’s a truly unique opportunity to be able to offer our passengers a direct connection from the UK’s south coast to Greece, and we are looking forward to the launch on 3 July.”

FlyLolo has announced that its first flight is 80% sold, however, there are still seats left at a special price of GBP 129 (USD 170) per person on 3 July and for GBP 179 per person on 10 July. In summer 2019 the airline is looking to increase the number of flights to two per week.
