波音公司16日与上海吉祥航空股份有限公司达成订购协议，吉祥航空将订购5架波音787-9型飞机。这是先前运营全空客机队的吉祥航空首次订购波音飞机。
吉祥航空董事长王均金表示：“吉祥航空致力于打造以上海为枢纽，覆盖国内及亚洲地区各大城市，衔接北美、欧洲、澳洲等国际主要城市的中枢辐射式航线网络。引进波音公司787梦想飞机将有助于我们业务的不断增长。我们期待未来与波音公司的进一步合作。”
波音民用飞机集团东北亚区销售高级副总裁安瑞生（Rick Anderson）指出：“我们非常高兴迎来吉祥航空成为波音公司的新客户。787梦想飞机已成为诸多单通道飞机运营商开启宽体机运营的首要选择，我们感谢吉祥航空对于787梦想飞机的信心。”
吉祥航空成立于2006年，现在已经发展成为中国最大的私人航空公司之一。吉祥航空以上海为主运营基地和维修基地，以上海虹桥国际机场和浦东国际机场为飞行基地。现已开通80余条国内航线、港澳台地区航线以及东南亚、东北亚国际航线。
波音787-9客机可以容纳290位旅客，为两舱布局。
