Leonardo Royal Hotels has released the first images showcasing the extensive refurbishment of The Midland Hotel, offering a glance of its stunning new interior due to be fully unveiled when work is completed in June 2020. The GBP 14 million (USD 18.21 billion) refurbishment project will see all the hotel’s bedrooms redesigned, as well as transformed public areas.
The most striking change, however, will be to the historic hotel’s main foyer which will feature a brand new, split level bar built on a raised platform opposite Adam Reid at The French, providing an eye-catching feature within the main area of the property for both guests and non-guests to enjoy.
The Midland’s food and beverage offering will also receive a brand-new look as part of the transformation, with current on-site restaurant, Mr Cooper’s, undergoing a full rebrand, turning into a British bistro with an all-day menu offering.
Jason Carruthers, managing director of Leonardo Hotels UK and Ireland said: “The acquisition of The Midland hotel back in November 2018 marked the start of an extremely exciting chapter for our group in the UK. The investment allows us to make our own mark on this iconic Manchester property, whilst maintaining the hotel’s renowned grandeur.”
