Cashing in on the football frenzy, Eurowings will be flying thousands of fans from 16 September to the guest appearances of their favourite teams throughout Europe. During the group phase of the European competitions, the low cost airline of the Lufthansa Group has specifically increased flight capacity on its Europe-wide route network and offers football fans from Germany, England, Austria, Italy, Spain and Hungary a quick and easy journey to the respective venues.
With 18 additional flights, Eurowings’ ‘fan pilots’ will not only fly between Barcelona and Düsseldorf as well as Cologne/Bonn but they will also bring London fans to the Bavarian capital Munich. In addition, the carrier is expanding its capacity on many existing connections by deploying larger aircraft – for example, on flights from Düsseldorf to Milan or Prague.
Eurowings has also set up a special task force to provide these additional flights at short notice.
