Following a detailed submission and on-site inspections, the Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort has passed all systems tests to earn the official Thailand MICE Venue Standard (TMVS) accreditation.
The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) created the TMVS system to give accredited venues a competitive edge in an increasingly competitive MICE sector, and drive Thailand’s strong position as a premier MICE destination in Asia.
The Outrigger’s area director for sales and marketing, Thailand, Rory Campbell, received the accreditation on behalf of the resort at an award ceremony organised by TCEB in Bangkok on 27 April.
“With TMVS accreditation, our sophisticated Similan Ballroom MICE set up at the Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort has been officially recognised as among the best in Thailand,” said Campbell. “We will now proudly take that message to event organisers who are seeking to create meaningful and rewarding corporate events in Phuket.”
Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort is a 255-room property located on the shores of Bangtao Bay. To achieve the TMVS accreditation, it has strictly adhered to ISO quality standards in food safety, security systems, energy management, and the administration of sustainable events.
Launched in 2014, the Similan Ballroom (716sqm) is now among the leading mid-scale event venues in Southeast Asia. It can host conferences of up to 350 delegates in theatre style and 290 guests in banquet style. In addition, the Outrigger also features the Tongfah (158sqm) and the Tawan and Talay breakout rooms (77sqm each).

All four meeting spaces feature free Wi-Fi, natural daylight, technical support, an event and catering team, and the latest audio-visual and conference amenities.
