September marked a significant milestone for Scenic Group, celebrating the fifth anniversary of Scenic Eclipse, the world’s first Discovery Yacht

The celebrations coincide with the christening of Scenic Eclipse by Dame Helen Mirren on September 10, 2019, in New York City. One month earlier, in August 2019, Scenic Eclipse set sail from Reykjavik, embarking on its first official voyage as one of the most innovative and luxurious ships of its time.
Offering a truly all-inclusive, six-star experience, Scenic Eclipse combines cutting-edge technology and world-class design to ensure seamless navigation around the world’s most remote locations. On board, guests can unwind in sophisticated spaces, including the indulgent 5,920 sqft Senses Spa, a dedicated gym, and a Pilates and yoga studio, before enjoying unparalleled culinary flavours at one of up to 10 onboard dining experiences.
The launch of Scenic Eclipse II in March 2023 further elevated the standard of ultra-luxury cruising, with enhancements including an expanded Senses Spa, a reimagined Sky Deck with private cabanas, a Sky Bar, and a Vitality pool.
Scenic has also expanded its portfolio with new destinations in the Oceania region and the launch of sister brands Emerald Cruises’ Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara. Work is underway on Emerald Kaia, which is scheduled to set sail in April 2026.
“Since the debut of Scenic Eclipse in 2019, we have set the benchmark in ultra-luxury ocean cruising. Our teams at MKM Yachts and dedicated crew take great pride in the continuous innovation and unrivalled experiences we’ve delivered over the past five years,” said Glen Moroney, Founder and Chairman of Scenic Group. “We are committed to establishing luxury yachts as a major growth category in ocean cruising, which extends to our expansion with Emerald Cruises and the upcoming Emerald Kaia.”
