Scoot has revealed plans to launch its first ever flights to the US, as part of celebrations to mark the official merger of its operations with Tigerair Singapore.

Nine months after Singapore Airlines’ two low-cost carriers announced plans to operate under the single Scoot brand, the merger has now been completed. Tigerair Singapore’s final flight departed Changi Airport on 24 July, bound for Tiruchirappalli.

And Scoot has now unveiled plans to launch a series of new routes, including its inaugural flight the US. The carrier’s CEO, Lee Lik Hsin, revealed that Scoot would start flying to Honolulu, Harbin, Kuching, Kuantan and Palembang in the next 12 months.

The addition of these new services, plus Tigerair’s existing network, will take Scoot’s total route map to 65 destinations across 18 countries.

“As we come to the end of Tigerair’s journey, we open up a brand new chapter for Scoot. Building on what Tigerair and the old Scoot had achieved since their respective inceptions, we are stronger than we have ever been before, and consequently in an even better position to offer our guests more choice, connectivity and value,” Lee said.

All previous Tigerair Singapore flights will now be operated under the Scoot brand, although the combined carrier will use the “TR” flight code previously used by Tigerair. Scoot’s “TZ” code will be retired. To mark the merger, Scoot has also revealed a new uniforms for its crew members.
