Luxury cruise company Seabourn revealed its latest marquee itinerary this week when it announced the launch of the ultra-luxury 146-day ‘World Cruise: Extraordinary Destinations on Seabourn Sojourn in 2020’ this week. This is the first cruise of its kind for Seabourn.

It is an appropriately long name for a cruise, which stretches close to five months and includes an exhaustive list of desirable destinations, including the Caribbean, Africa, India, Arabia, Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Australia and South Pacific, and Hawaii.

Destination Highlights

Dakar, Senegal

This overnight stay includes two nights in West Africa, where passengers will have the opportunity to visit the Musée Théodore Monod – a museum dedicated to the local history and culture – as well as discover the old capital of Saint-Louis, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Mombasa, Kenya

Here the Seabourn Sojourn drops anchor for three days, allowing passengers to get into the swing of the ancient Swahili city, where they can explore the UNESCO recognised 16th-century Portuguese Fort Jesus – not to mention a choice of snorkelling the coral reefs at Mombasa Marine National Park, swimming at Diani Beach, or shopping for handcrafts at the community-run Bombolulu Workshop – or even going on safari.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The ship will sail up the Saigon River to the heart of this former French colonial capital, offering travellers doorstep access to its broad Parisian-style boulevards and lively shopping streets. The overnight stay allows more time to explore the city’s market on a ‘Shopping with the Chef’ tour and discover the ‘rice bowl’ farming region on a full-day river tour in the Mekong Delta.

For guests who cannot sail on the entire 146-day voyage, shorter segments ranging from 30 to 116 days are also available.
