As the skies begin to empty and fall silent  in April 2020, desert storage facilities for aircraft are quickly carpeted with long streaks of  metal and carbon, decorated in the liveries of the world’s airlines. Facility managers boast they  can ‘walk you around the world in less than an hour.’  

CWT has observed a significant increase in travel to and from several countries that have recently relaxed testing and quarantine requirements for international travel.

Research by CWT, shows that business travellers feel that positives outweigh negatives at work (92%) and at home (82%) when travelling for business. Travellers from the Americas are the most enthusiastic at 94% and 86% respectively, followed by travellers from Asia Pacific at 93% and 84%, and Europe at 89% and 77%. “Getting out of […]

Travel management firm Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has increased the scope of its myCWT app by introducing the mobile air booking tech, with an average booking time of one minute to key global markets.

Business travel has grown exponentially in the recent years and along with it is the increase in number and size of corporate meetings and events. This has become a huge opportunity for event planners, hotels, and event spaces.

As more businesses go global, employees are travelling more than ever, but travel managers need to brace themselves as business travel costs are expected to rise in 2019 with hotel and flight prices expected to increase by an average of 3.7% and 2.6%, respectively.

With New Distribution Capability (NDC) the talk of the industry, indeed the topic was at the heart of the STX conference in Singapore this week, airlines and hoteliers are excited about the potential the technology will have to their businesses in the long and short term.

Recently conducted research by Carlson Wagonlit Travel found that while more than one-third (37 percent) of European travellers are concerned about safety and security, their counterparts from other regions worry more, travellers from the Americas say that they worry about safety and security nearly half of the time (47 percent), while Asia Pacific travellers worry the most (56 percent).
