Five challenges faced by GMs opening a new hotel and how to solve them
Back in mid-May I ran a story announcing Mövenpick’s new Malaysian MICE powerhouse Mövenpick Hotel & Convention Centre KLIA and the appointment of its new GM Hairul Maharis. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure to discuss the finer points of opening up a new hotel as well as all things MICE with the charismatic hotelier.

I first mentioned the Mövenpick Hotel & Convention Centre KLIA in a round-up of the group’s properties set to open this year. And now with the July opening of the 333 room property just around the corner, Mövenpick has selected Hairul Maharis as the new general manager.
