The Yas SeaWorld® Research & Rescue Center hosted a group of 14 CNN Academy storytellers from the Global South, part of an initiative funded by The Rockefeller Foundation, and 20 participants from the CNN Academy Abu Dhabi training program.
The group commenced the day with a comprehensive tour of the Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center, allowing the guests to witness firsthand the state-of-the-art facilities and capabilities of the Center. The expansive facility spanning nearly 9,000 square meters is the largest research, rescue and rehabilitation center in the region. The Center also boasts a rescue clinic, veterinary hospital and two marine wildlife rescue ambulances. During the tour, the participants gained valuable insights into the Center’s vital work, which encompasses marine wildlife conservation, research and rescue efforts.
Following the tour, the group engaged in insightful talks with Dr. Elise Marquis, Director of the Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center, and Rob Yordi, General Curator of SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
