Thousand Trails unveiled Petite Retreats and their two newest Tiny Houses in an assortment of unique vacation rental accommodations during the New York International Auto Show last month. New York City served as the ultimate setting to kick off this summer’s Petite Retreats #TinyHouseRoadTrip with the first official tour stop in Lancaster, PA, home to the Circle M RV & Camping Resort on Saturday, May 20th from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday, May 21st from 12 to 4 pm. Circle M is a fitting first stop as Petite Retreats Yurt Village is set to open their canvas accommodations, which provide outdoorsy charm without all the camp gear, later this summer. The Tiny Houses were first towed by Ford trucks through Manhattan and on display where thousands of attendees of the ten-day show saw firsthand what it would feel like to vacation in a Tiny House. Named in homage to Ford founder Henry Ford and his wife Clara, “Henry” and “Clara” are RVIA-certified and road-ready.
“Henry and Clara are ideal tiny representatives of the types of unique vacation rentals we offer and we are proud to partner with Ford to showcase them on our Tiny House Road Trip this summer,” said Petite Retreats’ spokeswoman Pat Zamora. Uniquely packing a variety of features and amenities in just 181 and 252 square feet, these two tiny houses are sure to be a big hit on each stop of the tour. “Our Tiny House Road Trip provides people a glimpse of the memorable experience they’ll enjoy when staying in a Petite Retreats rental,” Zamora added.
As part of the Thousand Trails network of more than 180 RV resorts and campgrounds nationwide, Petite Retreats offers Tiny Houses as one option among a variety of destination rentals, including yurts, cabins, cottages, tents and teepees. Two Tiny House Villages, one outside Portland, Ore. at Mt. Hood Village and the other near Sedona, Ariz. looking over Verde Valley are currently open and accepting reservations. Additional Tiny House Villages are set to open this summer in Leavenworth, Wash., outside of Seattle and at Tuxbury Pond, outside of Boston in South Hampton, N.H.
Although Henry and Clara may be tiny, they exceed 9,000 and 11,000 pounds, respectively, and will be towed on the summer-long road trip by two 2017 Ford pickup trucks, an F-150 and an F-250 Super Duty. Circle M RV & Camping Resort is first up on the Petite Retreats Tiny House Road Trip to highlight the campground’s new yurts, which are set to open to vacationers this summer. Other planned stops include Philadelphia and Boston before setting their tiny sights on other cities.
