VBRATA UK (Visit Brazil Travel & Cultural Association) has announced the launch for the first edition of the annual London Caipirinha Festival in partnership with the Embassy of Brazil in London and partners.
The festival will start off with an opening event specifically for the travel trade on September 5 this year.
The festival will run from September 5-17 in participating London-based bars and restaurants.
It is the largest Brazilian cocktail and gastronomy competition of its type in the UK and also aims to promote cachaça, the distilled spirit used to make a caipirinha, as well as a range of participating bars and restaurants across London.
“We are very excited to be launching the first edition of the annual London Caipirinha Festival. It is the first event of its kind and provides a unique platform to introduce the infectious Brazilian party spirit to the British public,” says Chris Fuzinatto, chairman of VBRATA EUROPE and creator of the London Caipirinha Festival.
“We know, thanks to figures published by the Ministry of Tourism, that 2016 saw a significant increase in outbound tourism to Brazil from the UK. What is clear is that the UK and Brazil share a very special relationship and events like the London Caipirinha Festival only serve to strengthen this bond and profile Brazil as an increasingly appealing tourist destination,” concluded Fuzinatto.
Over 24 London-based bars and restaurants are confirmed in the festival.
