The new City of London hotel Vintry & Mercer, set to open on 4 February 2019, has revealed it will be taking the MICE market seriously by unveiling a set of three new meeting and event spaces inspired by the rich heritage of the UK capital.

Found in the historic Vintry Ward, the property pays homage to the fascinating cultural influences of the area – where the Vintry Guild (est.1363) and the Mercer Guild (est.1304) traded in fine wine and fabrics, respectively.

A two-minute walk from London’s Cannon Street station and Mansion House tube, the hotel is ideally positioned for hosting meetings, corporate roadshows, product launches and social events in one of its three uniquely designed spaces.

Each space will offer a selection of menus to suit any occasion, from working bento box lunches to three-course dinners, each “bursting with bold Asian flavours”.

Which, at first thought, doesn’t seem very ‘London’. However, when you consider the city’s status as a global centre with a long record of trade with East it makes more sense. Furthermore, “bold Asian flavours” are just the sort of light, energising eats to fire up delegates for extended conference sessions and meetings.

The Library

The Library (26 seated and 35 standing guests) is elegant and chic, with the ceiling featuring a reproduction of Gerad Van Shagen’s 1689 world map and natural light flooding the room. For those needing a larger space, guests can spill into the interconnecting Drawing Room, creating a space that accommodates 55 standing and 36 seated.

The Drawing Room

With red wine coloured walls, French panelled ceiling and a copper mesh chandelier, The Drawing Room (10 seated and 20 standing guests) offers an intimate meeting or event space. The room interconnects with The Library for larger dinners or drinks parties.

The Music Room

Stylish and intimate, The Music  Room (10 seated guests) boasts teal wall panels and a bespoke carpet inspired by the British Regimental Tiles, and the walls are adorned with iconic British album covers. It’s the perfect setting for a dinner party, where guests can dine with a soundtrack of the room’s collection of records, or their own favourite vinyl.

In all rooms, amenities include TV screen, high-speed Wi-Fi and individually adjustable air-conditioned rooms.

When used together, the Library and Drawing rooms are suitable for a standing reception (up to 55 people). Evening and weekend functions are offered on a minimum spend basis.

Packages

Delegate offers include three coffee breaks and access to a Nespresso machine, an Asian- inspired working lunch buffet (for 10 or more delegates) or bento boxes (for 8 or more delegates), mineral water and soft drinks from the mini-bar, room hire and an LCD screen with Apple TV for presentations.

Moreover, at a supplement, weekday parties can use the speakeasy-style DND bar during the day for mid-morning, lunch and afternoon breaks. This package is available for a minimum of 10 people at GBP 90 per person including VAT.
