Ambassador Cruise Line, the no-fly cruise line that offers authentic experiences, affordable quality and the ‘warmest welcome at sea’, has announced that some of cricket’s most popular players and pundits will once again come together for a very special themed Christmas cruise.  The seven-night Cricket Legends Festive Getaway will offer guests the chance to meet, greet and hear from their sporting heroes, courtesy of the cruise line’s partnerships with Essex County Cricket Club and Surrey County Cricket Club.

Departing London Cruise Terminal, Tilbury, on Thursday 12 December 2024, Ambition will play host to the Cricket Legends Festive Getaway, where ports of call will include Amsterdam in the Netherlands and Antwerp in Belgium as well as France’s Honfleur and Rouen for the River Seine. As well as visiting some of Europe’s most iconic destinations, guests travelling on Ambassador’s second lady of the sea will also get the chance to get up close and personal with two legendary internationals, two of cricket’s greatest-ever commentators and one of sport’s leading broadcasters.

Guests will be joined onboard by former Essex and England captain, Graham Gooch OBE, and former Surrey, Essex and England all-rounder Alex Tudor, followed-on by Test Match Special alumni and famed raconteurs Jonathan Agnew MBE and Henry Blofeld OBE. The celebrated Broadcaster Garry Richardson – who will be stepping down from presenting the sports news on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme in September after 43 years – will act as Master of Ceremonies throughout the sailing.

A number of interactive events will be held during the sailing, with the stars of the crease and commentary box set to share their personal experiences and views on the game as well as hold quizzes, Q&As and more. There will also be the opportunity for guests to join Goochie, Bambi, Aggers, Blowers and ‘Mr Sport’ over pre-dinner drinks during the cruise.
