Hilton London Heathrow Airport launches its new ‘Bee My Guest’ experience that invites young adventurers to explore the hotel, learn about sustainability, and discover the world of its 160,000 bees that live in the hotel’s four beehives, located within its onsite garden oasis.
Families booking onto this unique experience, that is suitable for children of 12 years old and under, will enjoy a stay in Hilton London Heathrow Airport’s brand-new bee-themed family rooms. Young explorers will have the chance to embark on an exciting treasure hunt, uncovering hidden clues and winning fun prizes, all while learning about the vital ecosystem of the bees and their importance to the planet. Even the mornings will be special with a dedicated children’s breakfast corner, LITTLE OXBO, which is part of the hotel’s OXBO Kitchen and OXBO Café. The menu consists of a variety of options including scrumptious pancakes, mini potato rosti bites and fruit smoothies, which make it the perfect place for fuelling up even the earliest risers.
Oliver Stockland, area general manager, Hilton London Heathrow Airport, comments on the launch of the experience, “At Hilton London Heathrow Airport, we’re always looking for creative ways to deliver exceptional family experiences, and ‘Bee My Guest’ is one we’re especially proud of.
By combining fun, education, and our commitment to sustainability, this experience allows our younger guests discover the fascinating world of our bees while enjoying all the comfort of our beautifully designed bee-themed rooms. We designed this experience to create a stay that’s not only unforgettable but also inspires children to care for the environment and appreciate the critical role pollinators play in our ecosystem. Together, we’re buzzing towards a brighter, greener future as we continue to create a positive environmental impact and contribute to Hilton’s Travel with Purpose goals.”
The highlight of the experience is ‘Daisy’s Buzzing Adventure’, a charming children’s book, inspired by the hotel’s 160,000 bees. The book follows Daisy on a whimsical hide-and-seek journey, leading her through the vibrant gardens, sparkling fountains and the honey filled kitchen of the hotel, much like the treasure hunt that children embarking on this experience can enjoy.
To celebrate the launch, the first 25 people that book the experience in the family room will receive a free copy of ‘Daisy’s Buzzing Adventure’, and the remaining copies will be available at the hotel’s Market shop to purchase for £9.99. 80% of the proceeds will be donated to the British Beekeepers Association’s Apiary and Education Appeal, which funds free school visits to teach children about pollinators and the environment. Families will also have the chance to download a free e-book version when they stay.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Hilton London Heathrow Airport on this delightful project,” said Stephen Barnes, President of the British Beekeepers Association. “We are dedicated to encouraging schools to become more bee friendly and understand their importance in the ecosystem. The funds spent on ‘Daisy’s Buzzing Adventure’ will have a direct impact on the number of experts we can get into schools, teaching children about the importance of bees. By booking onto this experience, families will not only enjoy a unique stay but also play a vital role in contributing to securing the future of pollinators and our planet.”
This engaging experience reflects Hilton London Heathrow Airport’s commitment to creating meaningful, family-friendly stays that go beyond the ordinary, blending learning, adventure, and exceptional hospitality. It’s a further commitment to the hotel’s efforts in not only supporting the local biodiversity but also Hilton’s wider Travel with Purpose goals.
