Budapest Airport welcomes Wizz Air’s new route of Valencia, which is among the airline’s five new connections starting in June and July, continuing to enrich the airport’s network.

Budapest Airport has announced the launch of several new Wizz Air flights starting this month with a further two in July, expanding its connectivity to key European cities and beyond. The additional new links will enhance travel options and see the ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) operate 67 destinations from the Hungarian gateway through the height of S24.

Máté Ritter, Head of Airline Development, Budapest Airport, comments: “We are thrilled to see Wizz Air expanding its operations from Budapest Airport with these new routes. Each new destination enriches our network and provides our passengers with more choices for travel. We look forward to welcoming travellers to experience the cultural and scenic wonders of Stuttgart, Valencia, and Yerevan, and to further strengthen our ties with Romania.”

June launches

On 1 June, Wizz Air commenced flights to Stuttgart, operating five times a week. As the capital of Baden-Württemberg, Stuttgart is renowned for its cultural richness, automotive industry, and vibrant green spaces. This route joins Wizz Air’s established services to Berlin Brandenburg, and Dortmund. With the addition of Stuttgart, Wizz Air will operate 16 weekly flights to Germany, solidifying its commitment to connecting Budapest with key Central European hubs.

Valencia will become the latest addition to Wizz Air’s network from 3 June, with flights three times weekly. Known for its stunning architecture, lively festivals, and beautiful beaches, Valencia is an attractive destination for tourists seeking a blend of history and modernity. This route marks the seventh Spanish destination served by Wizz Air from Budapest, joining Alicante, Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Tenerife, and Palma de Mallorca. Wizz Air will now offer more than 17,900 two-way weekly flights to Spain, catering to the growing demand for travel to this popular European destination.

Later this month will mark the beginning of a historic connection as Wizz Air introduces twice-weekly flights to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. Launching 30 June, this new service represents Budapest Airport’s first direct link to Yerevan, opening up a gateway to Armenia’s rich cultural heritage and scenic landscapes. The airport’s passengers can now explore the ancient city of Yerevan and experience its unique charm and hospitality.

More Flights Coming in July

Wizz Air’s expansion continues into July with the introduction of new services to Romania.

Five weekly flights with the ULCC will start on 1 July between Budapest and Bucharest, enhancing the existing service from the airport and providing passengers with enhanced options to the Romanian capital.

Launching Budapest’s first connection to Brașov, the new service will operate three times weekly from 2 July. As one of Romania’s most picturesque cities, known for its medieval architecture and proximity to the Carpathian Mountains, Brașov offers a captivating destination for travellers.

These new routes will see Wizz Air serving three destinations within Romania: Bucharest, Brașov, and the existing service to Tîrgu Mureș, totalling 15 weekly flights to the country which is strategically located at the crossroads of Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe.
