Capella Hotel Group announced that it now accepts digital payment tokens (DPTs) at its flagship properties Capella Singapore and Patina Maldives, Fari Islands.
The luxury hospitality firm has acknowledged the growing demand for secure and more convenient payment options. As a result, has partnered with dtcpay, a Singapore-based DPT payment service provider licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, to enable guest transactions without any risk of price volatility.
In partnership with dtcpay, the properties currently accept WUSD (Worldwide USD), USDT (Tether), USDC (USD Coin), Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). Guests paying with these digital payment tokens can benefit from swift, secure transactions and the convenience of avoiding currency conversions for international payments.
Opening doors to new opportunities
With over 560 million people globally owning digital currencies, the group’s adoption of digital payment tokens will appeal to and open up a new segment of travellers. Operationally, this initiative helps reduce the time to settle and promotes a seamless customer experience.
Capella president Cristiano Rinaldi said: “We are proud to be the one of the first Singapore-based hotel groups to accept digital payment tokens, testifying to our commitment to innovation and unparallelled service. With our guests at the centre of all we do, it is natural for us to constantly find solutions that are in step with their evolving preferences. This is just the beginning of our journey into the world of digital assets, and we look forward to exploring more innovative ways to enhance the guest experience through technology.”
Rinaldi added that by integrating digital payment tokens, the company does not only enhance convenience but it also significantly boosts operational efficiency. This technology allows for faster, more secure transactions, reducing the complexities often associated with international payments.
How can guests use their tokens?
Guests at Capella Singapore can now effortlessly complete transactions by scanning a QR code on a dtcpay terminal at the front desk during check-in or check-out using their preferred wallets.
The hotel currently accepts payments for all charges to the room that may be settled on check-out.
For those staying at the idyllic Patina Maldives, Fari Islands, payments can be made through a secure link, ensuring a frictionless experience that matches the serenity of their surroundings.
