CarbonClick to represent green tech innovation in NZ Government mission to boost Southeast Asia trade relations

New Zealand green tech firm, CarbonClick, has been selected to join a Government mission to strengthen trade relationships with Southeast Asia. The carbon offset provider, which was established in 2017 to make a positive impact on climate change at every available point, is part of the delegation visiting the region with Prime Minister Rt Hon Christopher Luxon this April. Representing CarbonClick will be its co-founder and CEO, Dave Rouse, who will be joining 26 other business leaders united in their mission to build and strengthen trade opportunities between New Zealand and Southeast Asia.

With senior business representatives in sectors including manufacturing, infrastructure and investment; CarbonClick will be representing the green technology sector, with an aim to share insights on the sustainable tech opportunities for the region, and form relationships that can introduce the technology to new businesses and support reducing global carbon emissions.

Visiting Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines in a 6-day mission, the agenda will consist of panel discussions, insight sharing presentations and networking meetings as business leaders look to connect with significant Southeast Asian stakeholders to demonstrate the capability of New Zealand technology and support the nation’s trade growth. It signals a commitment from the New Zealand Government and the business delegates to deepen New Zealand’s international engagement, and the potential business opportunities in these key markets.

CarbonClick already has significant partnerships in Southeast Asia, namely with world renowned transport hub Changi Airport and the Far East Hospitality Group, and most recently partnering with the Singapore Airshow in February, showcasing the hospitality sector’s commitment to climate change and setting a precedent for sustainable practices in this region.

On being selected to join the mission, CarbonClick co-founder and CEO Dave Rouse says: “It is an honor for CarbonClick to be recognised as a leading and innovative business for New Zealand, and we’re delighted to have the opportunity to show our potential as a global changemaker.

“We hope this mission will further strengthen our existing relationships with key stakeholders, but also form new ones. By establishing our credibility in this region, we can show business leaders the potential in addressing carbon emissions and the seamless integration of our cutting-edge technology. We exist to make cooling the planet simple and actionable, and forming these partnerships will allow us to bring this technology to life globally and make a real impact.”

Maggie Christie, Trade Commissioner to Singapore, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise says:

“The bilateral relationship between New Zealand and Singapore is close and long-standing. Singapore plays an important role both in South East Asia and globally, with Singapore’s Changi Airport being ranked the fifth-busiest international airport in the world and the Singapore Airshow at the forefront of shaping the future of the global aviation industry. CarbonClick’s partnership with both the Singapore Airshow and Changi Airport via its Carbon Offsets programme showcases how New Zealand companies are building future-focused technology that is made for the world.”
