Emirates’ recruitment drive continues

Emirates’ recruitment drive continues

Emirates intends to increase its operational workforce by more than 6,000 people over the next six months. Additional pilots, cabin crew, engineering specialists, and ground workers will be required to assist the ramp-up of operations as restrictions lessen around the world with the wider administration of the vaccine.

The airline has now rebuilt 90% of its network and is on track to restore 70% of its pre-pandemic capacity by the end of 2021. Emirates Airline CEO Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said in a statement that the airline has always been at the heart of Dubai’s growth.

He stated that the need for 6,000 extra operational workers reflects the rapid recovery of Dubai’s economy and will lead to opportunities and other positive developments in a number of other businesses, including those in the consumer, travel, and tourist sectors.

He stated that the airline has carefully re-established operations in accordance with the borders re-opening and ease of travel protocols and that with the good signals in the economic recovery and continued rise of demand, it is hopeful to be back to pre-pandemic levels by mid-2022.

Emirates launched a global recruitment effort in September to hire 3,000 cabin crew and 500 airport services professionals for its Dubai hub to meet the operational demands of the tourism industry’s recovery. As travel demand grows faster than expected, Emirates will need an additional 700 ground employees in Dubai and across its network.

Furthermore, the airline is providing exciting job opportunities for 600 certified pilots who want to join the global airline’s Flight Operations team in Dubai.
