Just a few years ago, the location of the latest Hyatt Regency was just another expanse of water in the middle of the East China Sea.
But now, the Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa is a 344-room luxury hotel in Onnason, one of Okinawa’s top beach destinations. It’s right in the middle of the island’s northernmost and southernmost points, making it the ideal base for travel.
Visitors on the island can enjoy the rugged scenery of the Yanbaru area to the north. Or, the many UNESCO World Heritage sites dotted around the central and southern areas.
Check out the infographic I found on the Visit Okinawa Official Website below:

“We will maximise our island location to provide a novel, one-stop experience that guests will want to return to again and again,” said general manager Hiroko Noguchi.
The details
Aside from Instagram-worthy views and heritage sites, the resort boasts of interiors designed by the Tokyo-based Hashimoto Yukio Design Studio, which drew inspiration from the rich traditions of the Okinawan culture.
Of the 344 rooms, 320 will be housed in a seven-story wing on Seragaki Island. The remaining will occupy a three-story beach house on the Okinawa side. Both sides will have direct access to the beach, and a short bridge will link the two zones (as shown in the topmost photo).

Of course, visitors will be looking for fresh local produce. After all, when in Japan, you’ve got to have fresh food. I’m actually craving for some sashimi right now just writing this piece.
The resort is perfect for Japanese cuisine cravings as they will offer six dining outlets featuring locally grown heirloom produce. But what sounds more tempting to me is the fresh catch of the day from Okinawan waters.
Five flexible banquet venues will also be available for business retreats and social gatherings. They range from 90 to 150 square metres and each room will have ocean views and terraces.
Furthermore, there will be an on-site Seragaki Island Chapel which will seat up to 40 people. It will have a ten-metre aisle toward the sea – the perfect setting for those who want to tie the knot.

“We hope to be the reason why travellers choose Okinawa for their vacation.”
Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa offers a unique location, rooms with stunning views, luxurious drinking and dining, an unmatched wellness experience, and a dream location for weddings.
It’s now accepting reservations for arrivals on 1 September and beyond.
