Zhoushan is a maritime city of Zhejiang Province in China and is composed of over  1,300 islands, including the Zhoushan Main Island, which is the fourth largest island in  China.

Putuoshan is one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains in China. The statue of  Goddess of Mercy (also known as Guanyin), 18 metres high and the largest outdoor  Guanyin statue in Asia, together with the grand temples, such as Puji Temple, Fayu  Temple and Huiji Temple, make Zhoushan a famous tourist destination and appeal to  many Buddhists from all over the world.
