Indonesia commits to make Bali the heart of country’s tourism sector

The Indonesian government recently made a commitment to make Bali the heart of the country’s tourism sector.

Under the new Quality Tourism motto, the government aims to increase the number of tourists visiting the island destination.

Indonesian tourism minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana announced the commitment during her visit to the Jatiluwih Tourist Destination Area (DTW) in Tabanan, Bali on Monday, 9th December.

Recently, United Nations Tourism named Bali one of the best destinations in the world.

This prompted Wardhana to say: “I appreciate the award, and I am optimistic that tourist visits to Jatiluwih during the Christmas and New Year holidays will increase.”

On the same occasion, deputy tourism minister Ni Luh Puspa said she and her team would collaborate with the local government to develop infrastructure to support tourism in Bali.

Furthermore, she highlighted that Bali is famous for its customs and culture, whose traditions and local wisdom must be preserved.

Puspa said: “Let us work together to maintain Balinese culture.”
