The new Sakura Lounge at Suvarnabhumi Airport

Japan Airlines will unveil its upgraded airport lounge at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport next month.

Officially due to open on 1 March 2017, the new Sakura Lounge will have been completely renovated and equipped with improved facilities and more F&B options.

The number of shower units will be increased from one to three, and new seats come equipped with power sockets and USB ports so that guests can charge their electronic devices. There is also a new storage area for hand luggage, secured using digital locks, and a new smoking area.

And the lounge’s F&B is being upgraded with new menus created by Japanese restaurant Nippon-Tei, which operates six branches in Thailand. These menus include traditional Japanese dishes, including curries.

JAL currently flies from Bangkok to four Japanese hubs: Tokyo Haneda, Tokyo Narita, Osaka Kansai and Nagoya Centrair airports.
