Laos’ Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism held a meeting on Monday, 23rd December, to evaluate the implementation of the Visit Laos Year 2024 tourism promotion campaign.
Findings from the evaluation will set the stage for future tourism initiatives.
The meeting was convened by information, culture, and tourism minister Suansavanh Viyaket, along with representatives from the tourism business sector, as well as officials from Vientiane and provincial tourism offices.
Discussions centred on assessing achievements, addressing challenges, and refining strategies to improve the performance of the tourism sector in the coming year.
The Visit Laos Year 2024 involved 79 major events and activities, including 14 at the national level and 65 on the provincial level.
This initiative sought to The program aims to create a vibrant atmosphere that stimulates the economy, both directly and indirectly, across all sectors.
A long-standing commitment
During the meeting, Viyaket spoke of the Lao government’s ongoing commitment to tourism as a key contributor to the national economy.
The minister emphasised the industry’s role in job creation, income generation, and foreign currency inflows, all of which significantly contribute to Laos’ economic and social development.
The growth of tourism aligns with the government’s objectives to alleviate poverty and promote national progress.
