MIAT Mongolian Airlines has formed a new technology partnership with Amadeus as it aims to expand and modernise its operations.
The national carrier will adopt the Amadeus Altéa Suite, which manages all aspects of an airline’s operations from booking to boarding. This includes reservations, inventory, departure control, flight management and e-commerce systems, plus dedicated solutions for revenue management and its loyalty programme.
The move comes at a time of significant growth for MIAT and Mongolian aviation, with the new Ulaanbaatar International Airport set to open in May 2018. MIAT also has outstanding orders for Boeing’s new 737 MAX aircraft.
“Our recent codeshare agreements with Asian airlines and the new aircraft we will receive over the next few years put us in a strong position for growth. To achieve it we need to make sure we have the best technology available to support our objectives. This partnership with Amadeus is a critical part of the foundation on which we will build a brighter future,” said Tamir Tumurbaatar, MIAT’s president & CEO.
More than 130 of the world’s leading airlines currently use the Amadeus Altéa Suite.
