Tourism authorities in the Pitcairn Islands have revealed a new tour programme for 2018.

Making use of new boat services to the remote South Pacific archipelago, Pitcairn Islands Tourism is now offering an 18-night tour which includes a stopover in Tahiti, an ocean voyage to Pitcairn and 11 days on island, plus a range of activities.

“Demand for visiting Pitcairn has increased over the past few years and we want to highlight all Pitcairn has to offer,” said Pitcairn Islands Tourism’s Australian marketing representative, Richard Hankin. “The new tour incorporates many of Pitcairn’s unique offerings, such as community dinners, fishing trips and on-island activities.

“The tour also allows for a one-stop booking process with Tahiti stopover, connecting domestic flight and the Pitcairn voyage and stay,” he added.

The first tour commences in Tahiti on 17 February 2018, with future departures to be based on demand and coincide with shipping services to Pitcairn.

Located deep in the South Pacific, 5,500km east of New Zealand and 5,900km west of Peru, Pitcairn is home to the descendants of the HMAV Bounty crew, who famously mutinied in 1790. It has no airport and is only connected to the world via 12 annually sailings to and from French Polynesia.
