Step into a Victorian wonderland with HK’s Hotel Alexandra

Travellers visiting Hong Kong Island will get the opportunity to travel back in time and experience what it might have been like to live life like a Victorian when the Northpoint Waterfront property, Hotel Alexandra, opens for business early next year.

Informed by the Victorian’s penchant for strength combined with beauty, Hotel Alexandra combines elegance with modern concepts into what is described by the accommodation’s management company, Harbour Plaza Hotels & Resorts, as  a “whimsical atmosphere evocative of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”, which features a handsome hotel foyer and lobby, finished with gold, black and red – not to mention grand chandeliers, vast mirrors and flower engraved golden doors and fixtures.

The hotel boasts 840 airy and natural toned rooms and suites — drenched in light from the floor to ceiling windows — all of which are categorized with a playing card theme – wholly appropriate for the  Lewis Carroll influenced hotel – including the two-person ‘Diamond’ right up to the six-person ‘Spade’ and family ‘King Suite’.

Facilities include onsite restaurants, an swimming pool, a well-equipped fitness centre and, for business travellers there will also be a selection versatile function and meeting spaces, such as a huge ballroom and customisable meeting rooms suitable for weddings, conferences and meetings.

If that is not enough MICE for you, then factor in that the property is approximately two-minutes’ walk from MTR Fortress Hill Station, 10-minutes from Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, and 40 minutes from the Hong Kong International Airport.

All this, alongside the favourable location, offers an easy commute to the bustling Central financial hub, and popular shopping and entertainment districts of Causeway Bay and Wan Chai, then eventers have a veritable feast, or is that a Mad Hatter’s tea party (ahem) of options for work and play.
