DiscoverCars.com has completed a ranking of the most popular spring destinations according to Instagram hashtags. To do this, they analysed hashtags relevant to the spring season including hashtags related to flowers and spring before combining the number of posts and ranking the countries.

Let’s take a look at the top five most popular spring destinations according to Instagram hashtags:

Netherlands: 56,767 combined posts

Placing top in the ranking is the Netherlands, the European country received a total of 56,767 combined Instagram posts for hashtags such as #DutchFlowers which was used on 54,439 posts.

The Netherlands is home to tourist hotspot Amsterdam and is a great holiday destination all year round, in spring, travellers should take in the wonderful canals and nature tours dotted around the country.

Japan: 51,199 combined posts

In second place, Japan received 51,199 combined posts for spring-related hashtags. In particular, #JapanSpring was a popular tag and was used on 36,781 posts.

Japan is a country rich with history and culture, in the spring, cherry blossoms can be seen in Okinawa offering a natural escape outside of bustling city life.

United Kingdom: 41,250 combined posts

Next, the United Kingdom placed third in the ranking collecting 41,250 posts from hashtags such as #UKSpring (15,453 posts) and #UKFlowers (25,504 posts).

The UK is home to both unique cities and beautiful countryside meaning there is something for everyone this spring. With gardens and nature trails available in every UK country, the location might be a perfect spring destination.

United Arab Emirates: 40,693 combined posts

Ranking in fourth place, the United Arab Emirates received 40,693 combined posts with relevant spring hashtags. The most popular tag was by far #UAEFlowers which was used on 40,528 posts.

The United Arab Emirates is a wealthy country home to the luxurious Dubai, in Dubai, there are a number of nature activities to get up to throughout spring including visiting the popular Dubai Creek.

Canada: 39,975 combined posts

Rounding off the top five, Canada received 39,975 posts with spring-related hashtags on Instagram. Overall, #SpringInCanada proved the most popular and was used on 30,319 posts.

Canada is home to vibrant cities such as Vancouver and Toronto, it is a popular skiing destination but is a great option in spring due to its number of gardens and nature trails such as the Victoria and Butchart Gardens tour.

The top five countries are followed by Colombia, Singapore, Turkey, Finland and New Zealand.
