The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) held its Thailand Golf Travel Mart (TGTM) at several venues within Bangkok.

TGTM is an annual business-to-business (B2B) marketplace that promotes Thailand as a world-class golf destination. This year’s event began on 17th September and ends today, 19th September.

TAT deputy governor for marketing communications Nithee Seeprae remarked that the TGTM is a great opportunity to showcase Thailand as a prime sports destination, especially for avid golfers the world over.

Seeprae said: “Tourism plays a crucial role as one of the key engines driving Thailand’s economy, and golf is a significant part of that. Our world-class courses host major tournaments and offer year-round play, complemented by our renowned hospitality and a wide range of after-game activities, from tasting local dishes to exploring local experiences and indulging in wellness treatments.”

Thailand boasts over 250 golf courses, which can accommodate golfers of all levels and preferences. While many world-class courses are in major destinations, golf courses in the hidden-gems cities provide a memorable golfing experience. These include Gassan Legacy Golf Club in Lamphun, Santiburi Country Club in Chiang Rai, Chatrium Golf Resort Soi Dao in Chanthaburi, and Royal Creek Golf Club and Resort in Udon Thani.

An illustrious gathering

This year’s TGTM welcomed 63 golf holiday specialists  and around 59 Thai exhibitors, including golf courses, country clubs, hotels, and other related businesses, as well as participating in networking golf tournaments.

The TGTM 2024 began on the 17th with a networking golf course inspection and tournament at the Siam Country Club Bangkok, followed by a dinner at Topgolf Megacity.

On the second day, delegates gathered at the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit Hotel for the opening ceremony, Thailand golf briefing, B2B sessions, and networking functions.

For today, the final day of the event, Riverdale Golf Club is currently hosting a networking golf tournament to end the TGTM in fine style.
