To celebrate the return of business travellers to levels greater than 110% of those seen in January 2019, Virgin Australia has just announced a massive sale on domestic and international tickets throughout its network.
The airline has announced additional incentives for Virgin Australia Business Flyer members, so it’s no surprise that business travel has increased and reservations have hit a record high, especially from small and medium-sized businesses.
SMEs who join Virgin Australia Business Flyer by 31 March 2023 and meet qualified flying spend during the first 90 days will earn 150,000 extra Velocity Points.
Corporate travellers who are new to Virgin Australia Business Flyer and have Silver (or higher) status with another airline will have their status matched with an equivalent Velocity Frequent Flyer Status grade.
In addition to the business travel deals, Virgin Australia has discounted over 500,000 Economy fares from $55 one-way in its Bring on 2023 promotion.
For bookings made before 6 February 2023, the special rates are valid for travel on select dates between 1 March and 7 December 2023.
One-way flights from Sydney to Byron Bay cost $55, while round-trip tickets from Sydney to Fiji cost $459.
Until 10 February 2023, Velocity members may earn double Status Credits on all Virgin Australia flights, and all sale tickets include Velocity Frequent Flyer Points gain.
When asked about the airline’s plans for 2023, Virgin Australia Group CCO Dave Emerson said that the company would continue to offer the best pricing, the widest selection, and the best service in the industry to both leisure and business travellers.
We have so many amazing fares on offer, and we want Australians to get in before they sell out,” Mr. Emerson said, referring to January as the month most closely associated with making plans for the following year.
“We’re excited to announce a market-leading offer for business travellers, which will help many Australian businesses around the country make a successful return to travel this year.”
Since launching Virgin Australia Business Flyer last year, we’ve got an enormous response from companies interested in participating, and we expect the programme to grow even more this year.”
